Sherington New Thursday Group On Thursday, 7th August Pearl Teasdale hosted our annual Garden Party in her garden. It is a time to get together with friends and to raise funds for Willen Hospice and, as in previous years, members brought a contribution to the buffet, which was served with Pimms. Members were very generous with their donations, for which they received two raffe tickets and I%u2019m pleased to report that we raised %u00a3300 this year. We were privileged with a visit from Claire Cossett, a member of the Hospice administration staff, who met members and helped collect the donations. Many thanks to everyone for making the garden party a great success. Our September meeting is for members only but on 2nd Octoberwe have Community First Responders coming to talk to us about defbrillators and demonstrate how to use one. There is one on the outside wall of the village hall but how many know how to use it? It will be an open meeting to which everyone is welcome. We bid farewell to our Year 2%u2019s at the end of July and were sad to see them leave. They did a fantastic leaver%u2019s assembly and enjoyed sharing tea and cake with their families afterwards. We had a very busy July, we welcomed St Andrews for our sports day, had a super trip to Woburn Safari Park with North Crawley and Stoke Goldington school joined us for the day for an African Drumming workshop.
