PAGE 37Thumbsticks Walk - Sunday 1st February 2026This month, our walk is less than a mile from Milton Keynes City Centre, but gives the illusion of being in a rural setting.We aim to meet at 09:50 in the carpark located off Redland Drive, Loughton. MK5 8FB at the entrance to the Teardrop lakes.Should you require a lift from Sherington (The Knoll), please ring 07860 370558 The walk will be about 3 miles on flat established footpaths. Highlights include ancient hamlets, lakeside views, a13th. century church and two village greens; One ancient and one new.Everyone welcome. This is a dog friendly walk. T & M.Thumbsticks Walk - Sunday 7th December 2025The Thumbstick walk for Sunday 7th December will pick up from The Knoll, Sherington, at 9.30 sharp and drive to Woolstones, MK15 0AA car park opposite the Cross Keys, it is set back in trees.The walk is circa 3.5 miles, passing medieval fish ponds, through an orchard and up to the canal to return back to Woolstones, it is mostly on firm ground. We hope you can join us.Kate and Graham EdwardsThe annual Thumbsticks informal Boxing Day walk will take place from the Knoll at 10 am. It will be a local walk on public foot paths for an hour, or so, the route taken depending on conditions under foot.Please note that the walk will not take place if it is raining heavily.
