If you would like a commemorative card and a year%u2019s free membership of the Society please get in contact with us at SHS.Newport Pagnell Transport - October 21stJesse Line and friends gave an entertaining talk covering the history of the vehicles produced in Newport Pagnell, from the era of the construction of the canal in the 1830s through to 2007, from Salmons and Sons to Aston Martin.All proceeds will be donated to Willen At Home. We will have a detail report in the December SCAN.Our Next Event - November 18th - %u201cWorking With The Artist%u201dThe Historical Society are hosting Charlotte Howarth at the Village Hall on Tuesday 18th.Charlotte is the artist who has been commissioned by Milton Keynes Art Centre to work and create a piece of artwork for Sherington village. The Norfolk based artist has a history of working with different communities and bases her work on the outcome of many consultations. Most of her artwork is carvings in stone or wood. Charlotte has a love of letters and letter forms, and is a classically trained letter carver so she understands about text and rhythm and pattern.In November she will be holding further consultations across the village to develop the detail of the proposed artwork for Sherington. She wants to hear personal stories of Sherington residents.
