                                    PAGE 29Sherington New Thursday GroupOur October meeting was a very successful and informative demonstration by volunteers from the Central Ambulance Service First Responders of how to deal with an emergency situation when CPR and possibly the defibrillator could be used. Members of the NTG and visitors all left the talk with a greater understanding of how to use the defibrillator, which is situated on the outside wall of the Voillage Hall. Our next meeting is on the 6th November when Kevin Varty will entertain us with a talk entitled %u201cRadio Days%u201dThe New Thursday Group meets in Sherington Village Hall on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm. It is open to all ladies from the village and surrounding area and new members are always very welcome. There is a varied programme of talks by visiting speakers and inhouse activities throughout the year. We also have an informal lunch at the White Hart on the third Thursday of each month. For more information please contact Sheila Quinn on 01908 211153/07943002786 or, alternatively, just come along to the village hall for one of the meetings; you will be most welcome.Thumbsticks Walk - Sunday 2nd November 2025The days may be getting chilly and damp and so this walk is mainly %u201con the hard%u201d as one used to say, flat terrain, no stiles and using established MK footpaths.The Thumbsticks group will be meeting at 9:50 in the car park situated on Willen Road, Milton Keynes Village. Nearest post code: MK10 9AF. The entrance, with a height restriction barrier, is just beyond the Village Hall and by a small children%u2019s play park.We will be leaving The Knoll, Sherington at 9:30 a.m. Should you require a lift, please ring 07860 370558. The walk will be approximately 3 miles, taking in Milton Keynes Village, the river Ouzel and along the shorelines of Willen Lake (South).Everyone welcome, including well behaved dog owners.
