PAGE 16 As we say farewell to our Great British Summer it%u2019s time now to dig out those hats, gloves and scarves as the weather turns cooler.There is plenty for you all to look forward to here in Astwood. Step outside and smell the log burners puffing out that beautiful, earthy, smoky aroma of burning wood.Whist the trees have now taken on a quiet beauty. Very different from the flashy brilliance of October. Brick red, mustard yellow, bronze and copper are the hues of November punctuated with the greens of Pine and Spruce.SUNDAY 9th NOVEMBERAt 11.00am We remember our War Heroes and assemble outside the Astwood Village Hall by the War Memorials.This is a busy Sunday indeed. On the green opposite The Old Swan the monthly Farmers Market will be taking place from 10.00am- 2.00pm. Where you will find bakers butchers cheesemongers and much more with different stalls added monthly.If you find this all a little chilly then you will find the village hall as warm as toast. Providing teas, coffees and a selection of our finest homemade cakes, all made by our Astwood special bakers. Not forgetting the delicious hot bacon baps.Alongside this a CRAFT FAIR will be taking place. Living The Dream will be exhibiting their finest Italian clothing range with handbags, belts and so much more. Soft furnishings, Christmas gifts, sweet stall, jewellery, knitted toys, hand-made Christmas cards, decorations, candles and Mr. Art Cycle.All guaranteed to tempt you into buying that extra little something for those special people in our lives.I told you we had much to look forward too!THURSDAY 13th NOVEMBER 8.00pmIs our Parish Council meeting in the Village Hall. I have to say, having attended a few of these now. I am amazed at just how hard our Parish Councillors work. They are dedicated to our Parish and deal with subjects I had never given a thought to Pop along and see for yourself.
